SPEAKER_00

Kids, I do not recommend this at home at all, especially you got red hair. I'm a bit of a ginger, but buddy decides it's a great idea to impress girls to light up on a rocket and rocket in his face and it melts his face off. Question is if you're a ginger and your face is burnt off, does the carpet match the drapes anymore? Welcome to the AJ Buckley Show. Rule.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to the AJ Buckley Show. He's totally kidding. It's just serious.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, welcome back, AJ.

SPEAKER_00

Hey pal, how are you, man? What a crazy week it was of uh 4th of July.

SPEAKER_01

It was great.

SPEAKER_00

It was great. That was a good because it's been a long time since the 4th of July went into a weekend, right? So I feel like everybody took off like July 1st, which was Canada, Canada Day, happy, happy Canada. I haven't lost all my love for Canada. I still have love in my heart for Canada, just not right now. But yeah, we can yeah, you know. We uh yeah, we don't need to get into that. But I love I love Canada. I love the maple syrup, I love the people up there. My best friends in the world live up there. Jeff Herkitt, the moose, they're up there. But uh at any rate, that's not about Canada, it's about America. That's right. Um it's crazy though, like from like, especially in the in the entertainment industry, like people checked out, people checked out like the 28th of June. To like my manager, Christina, she's like, yeah, I you know, everybody's kind of taken off. Like, there's still like a week left. Like that, they're gone. So unrighteously so. Everybody works hard, they deserve a break, right, Sean? Yeah, except you. Except you. Yeah, I don't take breaks. You don't take breaks. I was working this week. Of course you were. Pound and your bishop, that's what you were working on. Um, so but anyways, it it was pretty funny to see because by the time July 4th came, I felt like people like were peeking. Like they they had been going hard in the paint for the for the week, and then they they they went extra hard, and then Sunday morning hit. And uh other than actually Death himself, the devil left town. That doesn't sound like the devil, but hey. Um, and uh I I really feel like if you bought stock in like Doordash, I think from like July 5th on, you would have made a lot of money because it was a ghost town in our neighborhood all during the week prior. People were out, it was fireworks, like at like 9 a.m., people bud lights ready to go, you know. They're big, what are those? The Stanley Cups, you know, kegs and eggs, and it was just it was just a party. July 5th, it was cricket.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, completely shut down.

SPEAKER_00

It was for like three or four. I feel like it just it like it just came back. And even like when they played uh uh when America played the other day, they had a big gathering down at a credit one stadium. I feel like people that had just come out of it then crawled back into their their little cave.

SPEAKER_01

And like America's soccer team shut down too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like when they went at the viewing party at the thing, and then America just I mean, God bless them, but they shit the bad. You know how some nights you're laying in bed, your wife, she wants to go to sleep. You want to stay up, maybe you got some work to finish, or maybe you just are into a really good episode of SEAL team. I don't know, maybe I'm biased. Well, with a ghost bed split king hybrid luxe, you get to have that option. Go to ghostbed.com forward slash buckley, code word buckley, get 10% off for the best bed on planet earth. Sleep so good, it's supernatural. You know, especially after Buddy got the chance to come back and play. It would have been better if he actually didn't come back because then we could have said, well, we didn't have our best player. But uh they did good. Hats off to the boys, don't you agree, Sean?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was a top 16, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they did good. It was very entertaining. It brought everybody together. It's it's so exciting when they're when they're playing. I love the World Cup. I mean, it's not over yet. I mean, but we have uh Ronaldo, he's gone. You know, he played his last game. Messi had his game uh a couple days ago, and there's all that controversy now with him and the goal, and I'm not exactly sure what happened. I just know everybody's saying that the Egyptian coast was doing like this X sign, and I don't know what that means. I think that the wrestler does that or something, but they're saying that's racist. Um so but there's all sorts of controversy on that that he shouldn't have scored. Um, but he uh he did, and they're moving on. I'm sure you can appeal it. Um call call call our boy. He'll he he he he's got the power. Um so it was interesting though, when you do think about that run of the World Cup and America and it perfectly leading into the 250th birthday. You can't plan, I mean, that's a like a perfectly planned party, right? Um, but I will say this there is something amazing that did happen with the World Cup, and I've said it, we've said it on every single show. Just it's so good to see people you know being united, you know, the United States of America, and uh just getting out there and cheering the country and seeing you know the um American flags everywhere and the outfits, and it was just it was just awesome. It was just a really, really awesome run for America. And I appreciate all the comments about my outfit last week.

SPEAKER_01

It was spicy.

SPEAKER_00

It was. Uh I had there there was a onesie. Um, I did wear that uh for the parade, our kids' parade. Um I wore that exact outfit, and we then we drive through the old folks' home um in the neighborhood. And I actually hooked up a snow machine. This is true. I hooked up a snow machine to the back of the golf cart, and I had like a generator, a battery uh on the back, and it was blowing like fake snow everywhere, and I was like, this is awesome. And uh um I didn't realize like it was just blinding everybody behind me until after the thing. I was like, oh, I didn't think it would go that, but like everybody after the thing, they're just covered in foam. They're like, love your snow machine, buddy. There was this one kid that were weaving in and out of the things, and I didn't know he was right behind because I had a little remote, so every couple minutes I'd hit it and go. And it was like, you know, like in Vegas where the the uh uh this the confetti cannons? No, the yeah, it's just like the dry ice. It's like that. It was it was like it's a real deal snowmaker. Like I don't mess around with my my uh Christmas decorations or my Halloween decorations, and this poor kid is going by and it blasts him all of a sudden you hear this sorry, bud. I'm like, this guy has got to realize he can't be behind a guy with a wig and a onesie and a snowmaker. It's dangerous. But um, it was a it was a great weekend, man. And um it was good to uh it was good to to see a lot of uh of uh our neighborhood together. Our neighborhood does it right, man. We have the best neighborhood on the planet. Um and the fireworks this year were insane when you think about it. Like my dog, okay. Um God bless all the dogs in the neighborhood, but we were recommended to get these like CBD like gummy things to help relax them. My dog loves them, and he's a lot bigger and he can get it onto the counter.

SPEAKER_01

Stoner dogs, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And he he ate all of them. Yeah, he ate every single one of them. And so we're freaking out first. Then we find out it's totally fine. He's just gonna be super chill. Um, you know, and I thought I was being, you know, the the the the responsible pet owner, you know, giving him the proper things to to relax. But little do we know, Mr. Oaks gets up on the counter, eats all of them, and uh, you know, he was just kind of like the rest of the neighborhood five days after. He was just laying on the floor. He literally had his like his paws in front of his face, going, like, oh my god, I have hands. I have fingers, dad. And I think at some point he would like look at me and he'd be like, I don't know, yeah, yeah. And I think he was convinced he could actually talk to me. And I was like, I think I know what you're saying, bro. I think you know what you're saying. He's like, make it stop, dad, make it stop.

SPEAKER_01

Did he have any notes for the show, AJ?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he gave it four paws up. Chappelle. Where's my thing? There you go. Uh, but um, no, it was uh it was a great it was a great weekend, man. It was, it was just I just love the 4th of July. And and and even like what the tourists, well, you know, you see them on all the news stations, like nobody does it better, no celebration better than uh what America does, you know. Um in Charleston, okay, if you are anywhere in Charleston at my friend's uh um barbecue party, and I wanted to bring this up because my neighbor actually is one of the owners of it, there's a there's a restaurant called Home Team here. So if you're coming and visiting, go to this restaurant called Home Team. It is the best barbecue in Charleston. Like it, there's there's a couple other ones that um are pretty amazing, but I'm a little biased because my neighbor owns it and the mac and cheese. I love mac and cheese. I will stick my face in a big plate of mac and cheese. During Thanksgiving, I won't even like mess around with the turkey. I'll just eat mac and cheese.

SPEAKER_01

I make a wicked mac and cheese. You do? Oh, my family like begs me to make it.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. I'll have to make it. I like to put it on the smoker too, but the wife doesn't like smoked mac and cheese. I'll have to bring some smoked mac and cheese for you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you better, Sean. You better bring some smoked mac and cheese next Friday. We'll have a mac and cheese off. I've got a little secret weapon that I won't tell you if we're gonna have a mac and cheese off. So in the neighborhood as well, like every year they have we do fireworks, and I've I really enjoy putting the fireworks together. Like before it'd be like light a wick, step away, light a wick, and it's just one, it's dangerous because so many things can happen if you're just lighting one wick. So I got like 80 feet of wick, and uh, we'll post a little video here of it, and I got zip ties, and I zip tied all the wicks and created like a show like based on what how many shots the boxes were and the timing of it was uh 20 seconds a foot per um this wick. So I was trying to time it out, and then I had it break off into three different sections and then hit the big one and the big mother load. It was really fun. Bottom lines, we had one of the best fireworks shows, and I'm not saying it was because of me, um, but we had the group, all the guys, all the dads, um came over and we just sit around and it's become kind of a tradition. Um, and I highly recommend learning how to do this zip tie thing. It takes a little bit of time, but it's so much safer, especially with some of the videos we're gonna see in a bit. But uh it it is it is so much safer, you just light it and walk away. Um, and it's a lot more calming than it is because you know everybody has a couple cocktails. I actually was very responsible. I didn't drink until after the fireworks show because I just wanted to make sure that this went off because across the the water, all the kids and stuff were, and again, with the videos you're gonna see, when those fireworks hit the ground or one falls over, it is scattering. And some of those, those, uh, those explosions are so massive and devastating. And that's the last thing I wanted to. Uh I'm like, hey man, I haven't even had a beer yet on the 4th of July. Don't ruin my buzz.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, aren't fireworks more fun when they go off on the ground though?

SPEAKER_00

They are just not in a crowd.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, or in person.

SPEAKER_00

In person. Yeah, I'm all for it if it's like, you know, you're out somewhere and there's no one around. But um, there's a lot of pressure because we had to like bring buckets and sand and dirt, and was like, I hosed down all the the area because we haven't had a lot of rain here.

SPEAKER_01

Safety first, kids.

SPEAKER_00

Safety first. I I did feel like the dad for sure. I was like, all right, well, we gotta get all the buckets out and do that. But it truth be told, we had a couple of the the cakes, as they call them, the cakes, um caught fire towards the end, and they were all picking up because there's a bit of wind. Had my buckets of water up, it was like so it went well. I felt uh felt good. But I tell you what, by like 10 o'clock, I'd been out in the sun all day. I was cooked. Like I was like, I am done. So I grabbed a plate of mac and cheese and um I just well, I went home. I was in bed by like 10:30. I was out, but uh, I love Charleston. Speaking of Charleston, um, since we do the show here, downtown Charleston, there's so many great um things going on in the summer. I say it every single show: this is one of the best cities in the world, and we have so many people visiting. And um, I actually got some comments, uh, some DMs of people saying they listened to the show and they were in Charleston, and um uh they're they went and they went to uh uh halls and they've checked out a couple places. So it's cool to see that people are listening to the show and they're checking out some some places. Usually the halls I eat at or the the the home team that I eat at, and Sean and I will go there, especially um during the week or whatever, is the one on Sullivan's Island. If you're coming in to visit, go to Sullivan's Island because it's amazing. Um, but go to the the home team on Sullivan's Island. If I'm there and you see me, come over. Code word is AJ Buckley Show. I will buy you a beer and some sliders. It's on me. I got you. If you're in town, I'm there, I'm buying your dinner. Done.

SPEAKER_01

Um does that apply to me too, AJ?

SPEAKER_00

No, Sean.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, damn.

SPEAKER_00

No. Yep, yeah. Sorry, Sean. That's because even if you were to put a wig on.

SPEAKER_01

And I was going to take my wig off.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's what I saw when I walked into the studio today. I saw you hide that blonde wig under the table.

SPEAKER_01

That wasn't a wig.

SPEAKER_00

What was that?

SPEAKER_01

Just the blonde under the table.

SPEAKER_00

This is a kid's show, Sean. That that I was like, I don't know how you're gonna recover from that one. Just the blonde under the table. The blonde wig. There's no other people in the studio, folks. Sean is a married man. Um, but uh yeah, this Friday uh tonight at Charleston, um, downtown. Um, one of my favorite places is Patriot Point. Um, and it's uh called Party at the Point. I've taken my kids there multiple times, and it is so fun, man. And there's a uh a band playing um there this weekend. Um, Mr. Fahrenheit is playing, and I've seen this guy before. He does like a um, it's like a Queen tribute band. I don't know if you like you like Queen, Sean.

SPEAKER_01

I do like Queen.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and this guy does it good. You know, some people do it, and it's like, eh, stop. But this guy, it does. So if you're uh I would recommend this. Go to uh home team um on Sullivan's Island, spend the day out there, then head on down to Patriots Point before you go over the Ravenel and uh go to go check out uh this band. It's awesome. The gates open, I think, at five, it's like 15 bucks, it's right on the water. Um and uh you just can't beat it. It's not even close. Charleston is the best.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so back to you running a professional fireworks operation, AJ. Who allowed that?

SPEAKER_00

Um I actually threw my hat in the ring. Uh even my my good buddy uh Caisley was like, dude, don't this is a lot of work. He's like, let's just do the one wick. And I was kind of pushed back. I was like, dude, I promise you I this is a better, a better choice. And it was. Um, but they did. They put a big responsibility on my back, and I didn't take it lightly. And I did watch YouTube videos on the zip tieing, and uh one of the guys was like, Did you learn this on SEAL team? And I was like, Yeah, I did. Yeah, this is what they taught me on SEAL team was how to rig a fireworks show. But Brian Frick actually, it's on his property, and God bless the guy.

SPEAKER_01

But uh good old YouTube universe.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Brian Frick and I were out there. Um he's like literally one of the best human beings on the planet. He is gonna come on the show, he promises me. But he is the most fun. Uh he always has the music, he's got, you know, food, like steaks. It just like he's got the most beautiful house. It's right on the water. And um he had his friend in from out of town. And uh, but it's like there's like a group of four or five guys that this has become a tradition. So yeah, I did do it. We drilled a bunch of the mortars down, which I always say are like the highest risk of anything happening because they there's such like force that they come out, they wobble and they'll just knock one over. And once you have a wick going on all of them, it's it's get like there's nothing you can do once that that bucket of water tips over. It is over. And what I'll tell you this the videos I had so much fun researching all the things that went wrong on the 4th of July this week that we're gonna get into. There's some crazy stuff, man. I mean, no one we I made sure that we didn't post any videos of people actually getting seriously injured, thank God. But there are some bangers in here, no pun intended, of people just cocktails, risk assessment out the window. They're like, America, fuck yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm pretty sure the first video of that guy trying to suck start a bottle rocket is hurt.

SPEAKER_00

Uh oh, yeah, the guy at the beginning. Uh yeah, he might be hurt. Yeah, he the cool thing is he could play Two Face for Halloween.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know? I don't know. He was uh uh yeah, he his his uh yeah, dude.

SPEAKER_01

He'll never have to shave again.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I don't think he could, yeah. He just oh man. He I I just yeah, that's when you know you have no good friends because they're like, hey pal, this is a terrible every everyone's like, yeah, go on, Mega, have a good time. You're like this, like that. That guy. And he's redhead too. He like just, you know, yeah, I've got I got I got ginger in me too, man. I got nothing but love for the for the for us gingers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I gotta think alcohol was involved in that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you think? You'd have to you think like first of all, pal, you don't bite down when it when the the flame starts coming out. And if anybody's watched like any, you know, uh Elon Musk or uh a video of SpaceX, the the the the blast radius of the flame coming up, they are like 30 miles back because there's so much thing. This guy was sucking off the freaking bottle rocket. He had the wood, he deep throat that wood and opened his mouth for the flame. You know, so hey man, maybe he's into that. Maybe he's you know how some dudes have, and this is very weird. Some I've seen these things where like they're like kick me in the nuts, and you're like, what? And they're like, Yeah, I'm into that. You're like, and there's dudes out there like they want somebody to kick him in the nuts. Maybe this guy's like, okay, I want you to, I want you to put a bottle rocket mount and light the fuse. I'm gonna stand here and I'm gonna bear down. Like, all right, to each their own. But you know, um, I hope I hope he's well, and I I hope he uh I hope um I hope this song, baby you're a firework, Kate Pity Carey, doesn't like give him flashbacks. Because that would, that would, that would be horrible. That wasn't even trying to be a joke, but imagine like that that when like that song comes on, he's like, Megan, stop. Um, but anyways, let's get into the show, Sean. This one is a great one. Welcome back to another Unfiltered Friday top 10 most viral moments of the week.

SPEAKER_04

Welcome to Unfiltered Friday's top 10 viral moments of the week on the AJ Buckley Show. Number 10.

SPEAKER_01

Number 10, Angel City Football Club. Fireworks misfire into the crowd. And on July 4th game, the BMO Stadium Los Angeles, a post-match fireworks show should be a nice cap to the night.

SPEAKER_00

You would think, right? Like the little fireworks at the end of the game. Let's stick around and let's do the fireworks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but the fireworks misfire directly into the stands.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, somebody has lost their job. Oh man, here we go. Look at this. Okay, so as you say, we can't play the audio on this because YouTube gets upset. But what's happening right now is it's a beautiful fireworks show, and then there's one rogue, and these are like these are the commercial ones. These ones will blow your dick off. You like sorry, it ain't coming back.

SPEAKER_01

Everyone's just like scattering.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're like first to like the I love the first ones that go off. People are like, well, that was kind of close. Let's wait to see what the next one does. Like, as soon as you see one Kung Low, you're like, evacuate, you know. It and you know, this is supposed to be a soccer game, not dodgeball with live pyrotechnics. And you know, I remember like having as a kid during Halloween, which is totally stupid, you'd have like Roman candle wars at Halloween? Yeah. Oh, we used to do that in Canada all the time. We'd grab the lids of garbage cans and uh Yeah, but why Halloween? That's uh weird because that was the only time in Vancouver that you could get fireworks, like it was very hard. Fireworks was on Halloween, not even New Year's. Uh um, and like people like it was a big deal. Um, and they're not even that great. It was Roman.

SPEAKER_01

That's why Canada's terrible right there.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Canada's not terrible. It's things, you know, it's the people that are running it right now. Anyways, I don't want to get into it. Um, but yeah, I remember like we would go out to the field, we'd have like 20 people on one side, 20 people on the other, and you'd just be like, and then you'd put like you'd get little um uh you'd take it like the pen, uh you take apart a pen, and then you would like tape it to your wrist and you'd put bottle rockets in there, and you'd wear like a leather glove and be like, phew, phew, phew. It was so fun. And you'd wear like a motorbike helmet. Um, but there were still people that got like got right in the face and it melted like glasses and stuff. It was it was a blast.

SPEAKER_01

The AJ Buckley show does not condone this type of thing.

SPEAKER_00

No, we don't, but again, I just as a like the things you do as a child and that you like you make it uh out with all your fingers and toes, it's pretty. I mean, you've done some crazy stuff, I'm sure, Sean. Oh, yeah. When you look back, you're like, how in God's name? I mean, in God's name, that's that's what it is. God was looking out for you. He's like, it's not today.

SPEAKER_01

Not I still do questionable activities.

SPEAKER_00

My I know this the blonde under the desk. Yeah, papayo. Um You're come on, I'll pick it up. Oh god, you're just did you your face just hit the board?

SPEAKER_01

I gotta wake up, AJ.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, what dude you had did you have a ghost?

SPEAKER_01

No, I have a high noon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's what it is. Well, it's high noon. Let's go. Um, anyways, what do we got? Number two. Let's get to number two.

SPEAKER_01

We're on number nine. Number nine.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I meant. I meant, I meant number nine. As we get older, it is so important to stay on top of our blood work. That's why I'm incredibly proud to have Pure RX, one of our sponsors of the show. Go to aj.purrx.co, type in time to shine in the notes, and you'll get 50% off your blood work. It's summertime. You want to go camping, you want to go off-road and get your truck, a lift kit. Go to total off-road. TJ and Dan are my guys here in Charleston. They're the best. Huge thank you to them for being sponsors of the show. You got a Paver and Princess, head to Total Off-Road. Get your truck lifted like a real man.

SPEAKER_01

I show speed. God bless America. This guy had a World Cup song, and that was FIFA's official streamer, and then Fox Sports put him on their broadcast, and now he's at the USA versus Bosnia game. And the United States men's national team scores and he just let it rip.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I love this guy. I really do. It's unbelievable like what he's in, whatever it is. And I, you know, I've I've my kids are obsessed with him. Um, it's pretty insane what he's been. I mean, you you have like Shakira, she was supposed to be the song of the of the World Cup. And remember, there's all that controversy about was that her butt, or was it in her butt? Like who's the butt controversy, butt gate?

SPEAKER_01

And um I have confirmed that was her butt.

SPEAKER_00

It was her butt. Of course it was. Yeah, I had to go back and look. Yeah. So at her butt?

SPEAKER_01

It was for science.

SPEAKER_00

It's like like your dad with Playboys. There's great articles in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, it's good, good read.

SPEAKER_00

There's great. I mean, really, there's very interesting things. Did you know that the the the groundhog, uh, when it goes back into the hole at another uh two weeks of winter? Like, thanks, Pops. There's no there's no articles in there, but um, but uh where were we, Sean? You distracted me.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I show speed singing, yeah. I showed screaming.

SPEAKER_00

He was screaming. So you gotta love this guy because his passion is for soccer is next level. Like he can't fake this, and he's obsessed with Ronaldo, like he absolutely bleeds for Ronaldo, you know. But when this the second though, when USA scores, he was beating his chest, you know, as if he was born on the 4th of July. I mean, I I love him. But on the flip side, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Portugal, when they lost to Spain the last kick of the game, Ronaldo's five World Cup.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, kind of lost it. And look at it here. He is crying, crying, crying, crying. And look, I'm not gonna kick a man when he's down. And I've said this before, it is okay to cry. It's actually very masculine to show your feelings. Okay, because that right there of him crying is a man who loves something with all his entire heart. I mean, when you cut to the sands of any of these fans, and and this doesn't happen in America, any of the European fans or like Spain, when their team lost, you cut to like the kids, they are so sad. Like it, the whole family, it is such an emotional sport soccer. It just brings out so much uh intensity to it. The only thing that drives me nuts is the falling. It's just guys, it's like flopping. The flopping. Yeah, it's just it's a little, I don't know if it's gotten worse or you know, like some of it, I get it, but it's like every second, and I get it's a bit of strategy, guys, but like come on. You know, it's it's like you should get you should get you should get like some type of award at the end.

SPEAKER_01

That's why I think hockey's a great sport, is because you don't fall unless you're knocked out.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, hockey hockey's the best.

SPEAKER_01

Imagine soccer allow people to just fight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I remember like like Ty Domey played for Toronto, he was like just the freaking best scrapper. He had like two teeth and would just kick the crap out of everybody. And he like think I think the guy was called Probert or something like that. He's played for Detroit Red Wings, but he was like the big meathead. And and Domey wasn't like a uh like a tall guy, but he was like he was like a tank. And they would circle around and they would anytime they fought, like people would talk about more like the actual fight that was gonna happen. It was if like Tyson and and Holyfield were gonna get together. But you know, that was like real, even like the stingray, the stingrace, is that what they're called?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, back in my day, uh the only like hockey player I remember other than Sidney Crosby in real life is uh a guy named Mark Tardiff. He used to be a stingrace player when I was a kid, and he was a notorious brawler. That's all we went for, stingrace games to watch him fight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a it's a hockey is a great sport, but we're not talking about hockey, we're talking about the World Cup. And uh I get it, I get it. I mean, you love something so much, you're it's your country's moment, and they lose. Look, America got their butt kicked on their last day, but you gotta hold your head up. So, hey, I show speed, and the rest of you out there, hold your head up. We done good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay from God bless America to the bathroom floor in seven days. Sounds like a good 4th of July weekend.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh, that's true. That is true. He'll be back. He the everyone will be back except for Ronaldo. He's gone, but I'm sure he's he's really not that upset. Ronaldo, yes, it was sad to see him go, but he's gonna go off and spend his money and just be handsome. All right, what do we got?

SPEAKER_01

Number eight. A whale sinks a New Jersey fire department boat. What? In Cataret, New Jersey, the fire department, Marine Unit No. A $297,000 rescue boat with twin 300 horsepower engines, night vision, radiation detection, a professional water rescue firefighters are heading home after a holiday security patrol. Just a routine trip and nothing to worry about.

SPEAKER_00

Nothing to worry about here, folks. Oh my goodness. So a whale actually sunk a rescue boat.

SPEAKER_01

Now the rescue boat needs rescuing.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. Taken out by a fish on the way home from a holiday ship. I mean, that's like that's a that's a fishtail right there, folks. You know, I mean it ironic. Yeah, Moby Dick really like. I mean, it's crazy though, too. Like, I've seen the you seen those videos where the killer whales will just attack boats.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, or just like uh kayakers also or the power.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, did you see that one where the lady got eaten by like a sperm whale?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she like she got out though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, there's uh there's one thing being eaten by a whale, but eaten by a sperm whale, I mean, that's that's a little weird.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the chief just like opened up the hatch inside the boat and saw the water coming in through a big hole.

SPEAKER_00

And then that sperm whale just spit it out. Why are you laughing, Sean?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I don't know. I'm not I'm not going there.

SPEAKER_00

Well, to my surprise, you know, this uh oh yeah, and and the and the captain, right? Yeah, he he like opens up the hatch. He opened up the hatch, he's like, uh well to my surprise, there were uh there was a big hole in the back of the wall and the seawater was pouring real quick. I mean, to my surprise, bro, you a freaking whale just like hits your boat. Like, to my surprise, the most Jersey sentence ever spoken by a firefighter. The boat sinks in 60 seconds and they get fished out by by uh uh by some random guy on a jet ski.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the whale just comes up from the surface and looked around and just kept swimming.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, the whale is basically like uh Tony Soprano, New Jersey. He doesn't stick around, doesn't explain himself, he just surfaces, handles himself, goes to the bathroom, and disappears. You know, they asked that the the whale for a comment, and he said, uh, what do you want me to say? What do you want me to say? And uh then he went back out of water. That was my James Gandelfini impersonation. You're like that.

SPEAKER_01

That was pretty good. I mean, I'll give that a standing. What do you want me to say?

SPEAKER_00

I I like James Gandelfini. I miss that guy. He's amazing. He was an amazing actor. His son's actually a really good actor. Have you seen his son act?

SPEAKER_01

What's his name?

SPEAKER_00

Gandelfini.

SPEAKER_01

No, I I mean I probably have. I'm not very good.

SPEAKER_00

He's actually, yeah, they did like the flashback of that. That Sopranos, I would say, goes down as one of the best shows ever made.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm just not really good with names.

SPEAKER_00

What's my name?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I don't know. Sonny Quinn. Sonny Queen.

SPEAKER_00

Sonny Queen. Um, alrighty. Where are we at?

SPEAKER_01

Number seven. Joey Chestnut and 66 hot dogs and his 18th title.

SPEAKER_00

Joey Bagged Donuts.

SPEAKER_01

Nathan's famous hot dog eating contest and Joey Chestnut.

SPEAKER_00

There is just something about this whole thing. I again, like, I'm glad that they do this, but it just I'll get like I get nauseous over this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like I just video makes me sick.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it just just the it just there's something about like uh like it looks like they're it just can't be healthy. Like there's gotta be. I'd love to see this guy's blood work.

SPEAKER_01

The ASMR is great too.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like oh I hate that. I hate that makes me want to get a slurping sound or anything like that. Like when people are in ASMR and it's like eating the noodles, I'll draw heath. Like it that's there's there's a there's an action, I think we talked about that. It's yeah, they said it's an extreme sign of intelligence, obviously, when you that's sound of like but just see they dip a hot dog bun and and the wiener in water and then jam it down your throat. Like, what is his bowel movement like? Does he like poop out actual hot dogs? You think? Let's let's let's just let's think why don't we call him up in actual dogs? Joey bag of donuts. Let's talk about your bowel movement. I mean, how many parasites does that guy have?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there was 66 hot dogs and buns, 10 minutes. It was his 18th title, and second place lost by 15 dogs.

SPEAKER_00

Holy smoke, that's not even the same. That's like LeBrjon, LeBron? LeBron James of Hot Dig Dig Diggity Dog. What? I can't even talk.

SPEAKER_01

The LeBron James of hot dog eating.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the LeBron James of hot dog.

SPEAKER_01

I bet you could get down 66 wieners in 10 minutes.

SPEAKER_00

That just sounded wrong right out of the gate, Sean. Yeah. Um, but no, I couldn't. I could eat I've eaten a footlong before at Dodger Stadium, and I would say I enjoyed that. It was a really good hot dog. But the idea, like, it's good until that like last little bite. Watch everybody. No one ever quite finishes a whole like foot long. There's always like a bite or two left.

SPEAKER_01

Your body's like, Joey chestnut does.

SPEAKER_00

Joey bag of donuts does. 66. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He the betting favorite was at like minus 1800 on this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Vegas bases that don't even bother just give him the belt. Right. 66 dogs in 600 seconds. That's one every nine seconds, then, right? That's yeah. Oh, God. I mean, this this this this man's stomach should be in the Smithonian right next to the Constitution. Right? Think about it. Oh, that's just like that. What they're doing right there is just I'm not good. So listen, I'm happy for you, buddy. I know you had a rough year. And I think actually somebody jumped up on the stage again, like a fan or something jumped in front of him, and bagged Donaldis game a little ba-bang. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Did that happen again?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think so. I think somebody jumped up onto the because the the last incident I think was at a bar or something, and then somebody jumped up onto the stage again. And uh he didn't, I don't think he he kept, you know, he kept putting that meat in his mouth. He's like, not today. I ain't messing around. I'm gonna suck that meat down. Bam. All right, what we got?

SPEAKER_01

Number six. Number six, my grandpa doesn't give an F.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Now, before we even roll this, I absolutely love this video. I couldn't stop laughing. Because I can just, I can just see this guy. Okay, he's he's gone to the little fireworks shop a couple days before. He's got it all planned out. The grandkids are coming over.

SPEAKER_01

He's got his zip ties.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he's got I don't know. This guy didn't have no zip ties. He he didn't he didn't he wasn't aware of zip ties. He's like, nah, I was in Vietnam. I don't need no zip ties. This guy literally has got, I'd say about four or five crown and diet cokes in them, maybe seven. Um, but who's counting? It's the 4th of July, okay? He's got a glassy eye, he is so happy. The family's there, little kiddos running around. He's got the meat sweats, he's like, it's time, kids. Kids are like, Yeah, grandpa, go do it. Roll the tape, Sean. Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

He strolls over to the firework.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, look at that. He he he doesn't even walk, he strolls, he is proud. He's got himself one of those like lighters that like shoots a flame out, you know. And and this guy made a decision, okay? In his mind, he is like Antonio Banderas in Desperado. Okay, he's got the guitar in the guitar case, he's got he's got slow motion hair in his mind. The whole family's watching in absolute, he's looking up, he's feeling that buzz and the meat sweats, and America. America's run through his veins like Hulkamania at this point. And next thing you know, he didn't, he didn't tie down any of the mortars. And look at this. Look at grandpa, though. Grandpa doesn't move. He's like, this is awesome. He 100% have taken away his firework privileges. They've let the fireworks store down the street know that, hey, if he if our grandpa comes back here, you are not to sell him anything. He is going to fireworks rehab. He is, but grandpa doesn't give an F right now. He literally stands there while every mortar is going off in the house. And he thinks this is great. I mean, this is a highlight for this grandpa. I am so proud. I want this guy to be my grandpa. I never really had, I didn't have a grandpa. Both my grandpa's passed away. This is this is if I had a grandpa, I pictured this would be what my grandpa would be like.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, they've like built a perimeter. Look, they have they've done this before.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the perimeter, but they didn't plan that the mortars would blast through it. You know? That perimeter, though, like that that family's like, hey, look, uh, grandpa's uh he's had a cup of cocktails. Let's pull the kids back another 15 feet. I mean, grandpa, he's got a they need to be way back behind the house or whatever it is, but he he did a good job.

SPEAKER_01

You know, he's mixing black powder with the mortars again, mom.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that that dude is it was pouring the black powder on his ice cream. He's like, this is gonna be good, man. Something's gonna blow. So um, I I'll God bless you, buddy. You know, every single grandpa out there needs to have that moment. The good news is no one, no one got hurt. And next year, grandpa's gonna have a sparkler and uh as much bourbon as he's like, so God bless him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's it. Just a sparkler.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, full desperado. He will literally be like, after that bottle of bourbon done, he's like, give me my fireworks. Number five.

SPEAKER_01

So this one's not a video, AJ.

SPEAKER_00

I know, but we need to put this in because this is uh this is pretty big. And it kind of like was weird how it was right around. World Cup news is happening and all the other things and all the other madness. This is happening. So people know what the CERN machine is, right? Overseas, it's a particle separator. It's this massive um can't explain it, but this massive underground machine like a tube where it spins particles around. Yeah, it separates particles, atom particles, whatever it does. You know, they have they've shut it down.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so let's take a break from the fireworks for just a minute to talk about this. This happened this week, and most people completely missed it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, here we go.

SPEAKER_01

So June 29th, CERN shuts down the large hadron collater, 27 kilometers of underground tunnel under Switzerland. They made it go dark until 2030.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, four years, Sean. Think about it, four years. You don't turn off the world's biggest science machine for four years to clean the lenses.

SPEAKER_01

The official reason that they're taking on a $1.3 billion upgrade to make it 10 times more powerful.

SPEAKER_00

$1.3 billion up for what? To smash atoms faster? Nobody needs to smash atoms anything. You don't need to smash atoms any faster. And you only the only reason you would do something like this is if something got loose. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's basically just like a subway system for particles, though.

SPEAKER_00

A subway system that apparently needs half a presidential term of maintenance, okay. My car needs like an oil change every six months. This needs what four years to to for the something's off. This is what, you know, and and let the let the conspiracies, you know, I welcome all of them because uh where there's smoke, there is fire, and there's some truth to this. And I I this this freaks me out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so the internet's theory is they opened a portal and something came through, and they needed until 2030 to deal with it.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, when you say open up a portal, I mean, does that just sound like the fact that this is like even we gotta get we gotta get portal sound effects. Um that's disgusting. Uh but I I just I'm thank you for saying it out loud, Sean. But the the thing that I would say with all of this, when you're messing with science at such a big level, like with black holes and all the other stuff, who knows what is gonna happen. But you we shouldn't we shouldn't play with this sort of stuff because there's other sides, uh you know, other scientists like this could absolutely like create a black hole here on earth and we'll just all be sucked away. You know, there's other ones that basically said like the last time that something like this happened, it created like the Mandela effect, and we are just kind of in this simulation, or we're just part of a memory, or something like that. It there's so many deep conspiracies. The one though that freaks me out is that something came through and they had to shut it down until they find it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did find particle decay, and then scientists still can't explain that, but then they shut the whole thing down two weeks later.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because they found something they could explain it, Sean. Two weeks later, they hit the killed switch. We've all seen that movie. You know, we're like, shut the door, shut the door. You know, like what's the lady's name from Aliens? Not Jamie Lee Curtis, but what's her name? Aliens?

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna have to make me look it up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she got you was so good. But that's I see her right now, like waking up into like her phone's ringing, like, we need you. You know, that to me is that's a cover-up with a 14-day head start right there. I mean, why would you delay shutting something down unless was it Sigourney Weaver? Yeah, Sigourney Weaver, yeah. Yeah, she was like, I feel like someone like Sigourney Weaver is needed. And by the way, you couldn't have cast a better person for aliens, like, because it she just had that look of like when that disgusting thing that aliens, you know, aliens is one of the best movies ever made, but that when they came around and you saw you saw Sigourney Weaver, like she can handle it. It's like when you saw Angelina Jolie in the movie Salt and she weighed like 35 pounds and she was like beating the crap out of everybody like you're like this isn't real. You see Sigourney Weaver with an alien, you're like, you're like, hey alien, you're done. She's gonna literally kick your nuts back to Venus. Um but if you like, why would they shut it down? That's the question that everyone's asking right now. Were you like, were you scrambling to try and contain whatever it is that got out? You know, it's it's that's not a construction delay. That's that's a hostage negotiation with a sub sub subtonic monster.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're calling the upgraded version the high luminosity LHC.

SPEAKER_00

Really? I've never even heard. What is luminosity?

SPEAKER_01

That's light.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. You don't need high luminosity unless you're looking for something in the dark, right? Like you don't get a flashlight and look in the basement unless you got a monster downstairs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, CERN's official response. The universe produces 10 million LHC like experiments per second. If it were dangerous, stars wouldn't exist.

SPEAKER_00

I love how they just throw this random fact out there. Like, CERM has a statement we uh we should listen up, and like they put up that like you you literally just said a bunch of bulls like oh the reason why is because if they didn't do this, this wouldn't exist. It's like thanks, pal. And most people are like, oh, all right, they said it, guys. That's that's the reason. All right, uh, that's the press conference is over. It's like, but we're gonna shut down the machine.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, anyways, let's get back to fireworks, HM. Yeah, America isn't done yet.

SPEAKER_00

They're not, no. Three pillars of discipline: spirit, mind, body, in that order. That right there is the foundation of a company I started called Born of Discipline. It's incredibly important to me, this company incorporates my faith, the lessons I learned from my father on discipline, pain from regret, or pain from discipline is something my dad always said to me. And I've incorporated that into my life, and I want to share it with you. Go check it out at bornofdiscipline.com.

SPEAKER_01

Number four. The kid takes a Roman candle inside the house. So this one's yeah, hard to watch because the mom lights a Roman candle, hands it to her toddler. He's maybe three or four.

SPEAKER_00

But we could we could let's just probably he could have that that this kid could be 40 and he just looks like you know the one with the babies that don't age. So I don't want to I don't want to throw out anything and say, like, like this kid's three years old and you gave your kid a firework, that's terrible parenting. Because he could be 40, he could have been like Brad Pitt in Benjamin Buttons. So if we're going with that, then this is totally normal. But if we're not, because if it walks like a toddler and talks like a toddler, it's it's a toddler. So this this this parent gave look at this, like look at this tape. They literally give this cute look how cute that baby is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that's probably because he was about to show his pants. And um, but the oh, look at this. This is the worst parenting choice of all time.

SPEAKER_01

This is terrible.

SPEAKER_00

And then the mom runs outside, the baby goes inside with aunts and uncles in there, blows the house up, and mom stays outside. She's like, put it down. You tackle your kid and you rip it out, and then you take it and you bring it outside the house.

SPEAKER_01

The mom chose natural selection at this point. She's like, Well, we'll have another one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, it's uh it's a it's you know, uh that kid, God bless him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the logic of a three-year-old, home is where you go when things get scary.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, home is not the answer when the scary thing is in your hands. He's he his little brain, he just had it in his hands, it was like, oh god, this is too much for us. I'm scared. I gotta, I gotta bring this inside and feel safe. And it, I mean, it's pretty funny, but at the same time, it's yeah, it's uh it's uh, you know, you're parenting. You know, nobody writes the book. You you make decisions and split decisions, you make decisions in split seconds that you're like, this is a great idea. So I think it was I'm gonna let my child experience fireworks at a young age.

SPEAKER_01

And uh They got an experience.

SPEAKER_00

They did. And for anybody out there that's winging it like the rest of us parents, learn from other people's mistake. Don't give your parent, your your child, or your parents if they're elderly. Elderly, because we've seen that. They've so far, so far, we've the the well, I just think in general, uh uh fireworks are are very dangerous. You have to uh proceed with caution. But uh yeah, at least um uh yeah, it's uh I I I I want to move on because I don't want to say anything that I shouldn't say, but it's uh we've we've all made mistakes, so go with God.

SPEAKER_01

Number three. The Rottweiler villain arc. So July 4th, again, a backyard party. There's family, kids, and fireworks going off, and the family Rottweiler decides tonight is the night he takes over.

SPEAKER_00

Takes over the party.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he takes over the fireworks operation and goes full chaos, man.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, this is this I will say is probably my favorite clip of the show. I mean, what dog, you know, dogs just get so excited, like, what is that sparkly thing? What is that? And Rottweilers, you can't like they're big. They like their their necks are like 17 inches, and like they are the most lovable animals in the world, but when they get a hold of a Roma candle, start running around the house, it's not like you can jump on the thing and rip it out of its mouth. Like this dog thinks it's a game. I mean, look, it's it's shooting into the garage, into the house. Again, this is I love Fourth of July, but this is where shit gets weird. I mean, the amount of alcohol that was drunk, I think it was like something like three billion dollars of alcohol, and the amount of injuries over the last you know, uh four days, I think it's a direct correlation. Yeah, it's just insane. So fireworks, alcohol, 4th of July. People went big. Hopefully, everybody made it home safe. But uh so so far we've we've written off dogs are not good with fireworks, grandpas aren't good with fireworks.

SPEAKER_01

Face fucking fireworks is not good.

SPEAKER_00

Face yeah, don't don't don't don't suck the chrome off a car hitch, pal. You know, uh uh um so so far, so far there's been no common sense with fireworks. Alcohol and fireworks, not a good idea. All right, where are we at, Sean?

SPEAKER_01

Number two. Skydiver Ross, where his flag snags the tree and crashes into the tent.

SPEAKER_00

Whoa. If it wasn't for the tents, this guy unfortunately would have not seen another day. But you know, hey man, it worked out. And uh this guy's a this guy has skydived before. He's a a rodeo performer. Uh he's a cowboy. Obviously, if you're jumping out of a plane with a giant American flag, it snags on the tree and instantly like hits the brakes. Like this guy's like on cloud nine, he is like about to high five, get off, pull off the the the parachute, kiss his girl, be like, you're the greatest. And it's just like thank god for the tent.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that could have been really bad. It looks bad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it is. It yanked him sideways like a like a marionette.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, he goes straight into the vendor tent, full send, no brakes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that tent did not sign up for the Air Force today. You know, it didn't. Somebody was selling funnel cakes, like, would you like two of these? And then Buddy is like over top of them. Um, we did find out he is okay. He just like a little split on his lip, which is a miracle, but uh he did get a standing ovation. Thank God it is America, and people are probably like, This is the coolest show I've ever seen, man.

SPEAKER_01

He ended up jumping again the next night.

SPEAKER_00

Of course he did. You fall off a horse, you get back on. You get clipped by a tree and smash your face through a churro tent, you get up and you do it. And it is time for the number one right now, Sean. What do we got?

SPEAKER_04

And the number one viral moment of the week on the AJ Buckley show is Jake Paul and his 6,000-acre ranch in Georgia at a Southlands plantation.

SPEAKER_01

This is very normal boxer behavior.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I this is these guys are living the life. Say what you want. Again, these guys have figured it out. They're just doing what they want to do. I mean, what this is like every guy's dream to have all that land, every toy under son, have your best friends and have $10,000, $20,000 worth of fireworks. This is insanity. I mean, look at them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this isn't like just fireworks.

SPEAKER_00

No, this is this is like they're on, you know, I saw the videos where they're like driving trucks, shooting it out, they're in their ATVs, they're threw all the fireworks into like look at this with the where it's shooting. You see uh uh uh Logan Paul there is the older brother.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, Yeah, maybe this isn't a good idea. Did they shoot like 10,000 fireworks off simultaneously?

SPEAKER_00

Wow, this guy doesn't even look real. This looks like the opening of a war movie. I mean, Jake Paul said, I want the 4th of July to file restraining order against me. He did say that. Uh, and that's something Jake Paul would say. That's that's he's good at those little hook things. I want the 4th of July to file a restraining order against me. Um, but Jake Paul, man, there they are. I want to go to that ranch, man. Look at that. I just that's FOMO right there. You know, I bet you from if you were in space and you're going over America, you're like, oh man, isn't that that what's that what's that YouTuber? Yeah, that's a you that's his fireworks show right there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Jake Paul's doing it again.

SPEAKER_00

Well, there we have it. That is another top 10 Unfiltered Friday of the craziest moments of the week. Now we have a new we have a new segment of the show that we're gonna add in and uh explore this sort of side of the show, Sean.

SPEAKER_01

You picked a great topic.

SPEAKER_00

Um, it was weird. I didn't want to do it because it just I guess it's like nails on a chalkboard, even though I was a swifty dad and was very proud to support my daughter and her swiftiness, and then my daughter being how intelligent she was, she's like, Dad, I think I'm over. I remember I remember being in the car, and uh um I went to go put on something. She's like, Dad, I think I'm over there. Yeah, and I was like, I love you, Willow. You are the greatest. I did have a big dad moment because um in I Willow came down one day. She's like, Dad, one of Taylor Swift's favorite shows, CSI New York. And I'm like, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I'm her favorite character, by the way.

SPEAKER_00

And she she was like, You know? And I was like, Yeah, I know. I was on the show. She's like, Do you guys talk? I'm like, not really. No, not anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Before me and your mom met.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, never. Uh, but it was it was things. It was my like my daughter obviously figured out later that I was just having her on, but that look of like, my dad is the coolest. He's the coolest. There's there's moments in in your life where you get that look of like, you are the hero. And uh, I'm holding on to that as long as I can.

SPEAKER_01

So, what's the name of this new segment?

SPEAKER_00

So the name, the name of this section segment, what we're working with, we're throwing it around there. It's called by the numbers, right? And here's how it worked. We we take one story, one moment, one event of the week, and we we break down the actual numbers behind it. Because when you think about it, Sean, the craziest part of any story isn't necessarily what happened, it's what it cost. Yeah, what it took. Yeah, it's like how big it actually was. Like when you watch something, you're like, wow, that was insane. But then when you hear like the actual numbers, you're like, oh, oh, that's nuts. You know, and the numbers don't lie, and they they don't have a publicist, right? Yeah, so what are we working with this week? Unfortunately.

SPEAKER_01

Taylor Swift's wedding.

SPEAKER_00

All right, all right. Let's get into it. It's actually crazy fact, so I think you'll enjoy this.

SPEAKER_01

July 3rd, Madison Square Garden. Taylor Swift marries Travis Kelsey. So let's talk about what this actually costs line by line.

SPEAKER_00

Nobody cares! But this this is actually interesting. All right, read off the fact, Sean.

SPEAKER_01

So the venue. MSG booked for three days. The setup, the wedding, and the teardown was one million dollars a night, no celebrity discount, and she has performed eight sold-out shows there, and they still have charged her full price.

SPEAKER_00

What? I could just see that guy. He's like, you know what? You've tortured me with my your music and my children for so many years. I'm gonna look at her in the face and say, full price. I respect MSG for that. I really do. That's that's business right there. I mean, I don't mean to hate on uh Taylor Swift that because you know she does she does uh make great music for the people that like it. And she's done incredible things. She's obviously made a shit ton of money. And if I'm gonna say I give props to i Show Speed and Logan Paul and all these other guys, I gotta give props to uh what she's accomplished.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So the venue total was three million dollars, and the flowers and production design was three to five million dollars.

SPEAKER_00

Flowers were five million dollars? Like they last for oh my gosh, this is just insane.

SPEAKER_01

The lighting alone was almost a million dollars.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, the lights a million dollars to to see the room looks nice. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Security, private security, former secret service, NYPD coordination, underground tunnel access, decoy vehicles, six decoy wedding dresses with NDAs across multiple fashion houses.

SPEAKER_00

Isn't that a little over the top? Like the you no one can know what the tailor is going to be wearing on the wedding day. It's a surprise. So she bought six different dresses, and then it's like, wow, just in case a photo gets leaked?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, six dresses with multiple outliers, ironclad NDAs on all of them, and a security budget between five to ten million dollars.

SPEAKER_00

You know, the wedding planner on that was just an absolute savage with like just had like the veins coming out of the side of her head with her her her little headset and her phone and all the just the everything you see in a Hollywood movie was the wedding planner of that, like the pressure. Where's the groom? Where's the groom? Where is the groom? Where is coming? He's doing catch things with his brother. I will shave his brother's beard off before they walk out of there. Like it's just absolute maddening. What the food cost.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so the catering was three million dollars. Seafood was flown in overseas by private jets.

SPEAKER_00

Of course it was.

SPEAKER_01

The morning of the wedding.

SPEAKER_00

Like, why like why seafood? Like with the fish is better over there? I mean, probably is, but I mean, do do they really like we want to get a jet, we want to go pick up three fresh, three snow crabs.

SPEAKER_01

We want them caught the same day.

SPEAKER_00

The same I want it. Yeah, like we're here to pick the like the G4 legacy lands, and it's got like, you know, maybe there were Swifties that brought like the you know, the tilapia up on the board.

SPEAKER_01

So the pre-wedding events, like the bachelor party and bachelorette, and rehearsal dinners was another $10 million.

SPEAKER_00

A $10 million bachelor party? Oh my god. Is the rehearsal dinner cost $10 million? Man, do you know how many people could just retire? Like, you could get a lot of people, like my my whole neighborhood, $10 million, split it up. That's a good day.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Adam Sandler officiated it.

SPEAKER_00

That's cool. That's actually pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks performed. What? And then guests played skee ball and mini golf for Chanel Dior and Cartier Prizes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I'm I'm I'm bummed I didn't get the invite. You know, you won Jewelry.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't RSVP in time.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I know, I know. We were busy, we were busy making this show. Yeah, the podcast had other plans. But you you literally won Cartier playing a carnival game at a Taylor Swiss wedding. I mean, that's a sentence not a lot of people ever say or thought they would ever say.

SPEAKER_01

So the total cost all in was around $80 million.

SPEAKER_00

$80 million for one night. Wow. Let that sink in. $80 million. And that, like, you don't even blink at $80 million. But you know what Taylor Swift would call that. I mean, that's that's that's a tortured man's account right there. Because wouldn't he have to pay for that as the as the man? Probably not. Taylor Swift is she's a billionaire, isn't she?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they probably don't argue over money. Yeah. I mean, even it was nice though. The day before the wedding, she donated $26 million to a charity.

SPEAKER_00

I think it was the Dolly Parton charity, right? Something. She noted she donated a lot of money. $26 million to I mean, that's just that is insane. I did see that which I thought was kind of cool. There was a story or something that came out, like at the end of her tour, her dancers, like she gave them all gifts, and I think it was a check, but I think it was like a million dollars, like it was it was millions of dollars that she gave out to her team. So, you know, I I I will be the nice AJ that I am and not hate so much on this. But this is what the by the numbers is like. We get to see that the the the craziness of this, and uh at least they did give some stuff to to charity, you know. But uh that's basic that's a country, right? That is like that, that is so much money. That is wow. Well, hey, if you got it and you and that doesn't even dent your thing, and you know, if I had it and wanted to uh rent out Madison Square Gardens and just fly, you know, four potatoes over from Ireland on a G4 legacy because it's an Irish potato and eat it right out of the ground, I would probably do it just to do it. You know, again, I'm not the biggest football fan, and I've seen some people like they're like Travis Kelsi and Taylor sell it's I mean it's let the teacher on, let them live. They've gotten married and they'll they'll go off. I mean, how did the Chiefs do last year?

SPEAKER_01

Who cares, dude? I'm a Raiders fan.

SPEAKER_00

I know, but I'm just curious, like they didn't do good at all. So is this like the Yoko Ono effect? Because I know that they won it, they won a Super Bowl with her, right?

SPEAKER_01

I think they've won two.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think since they've been dating, yeah. But they the Chiefs didn't even make the playoffs last year.

SPEAKER_00

So are they is are they is is he retired now or I think he's coming back again this year. And he's he's a pretty respected player, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's one of the I mean he's one of the best tight ends of all time. He he didn't play very well last year. I mean, his age is getting up there, but and his brother played for Philly, right? Yeah, his brother won Super Bowl with Philly as a center.

SPEAKER_00

I did see it was kind of funny. Uh his mom was on a reality show. Did you see that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was like the traitor or whatever it was, and she's like I like she actually seemed like a cool mom. Uh, but she's just like this stout little woman, and and uh um she was like the mom like people like she's like I'm I'm uh uh how do you say the last name again? Kelsey Kelsey. Kelsey. I'm Kelsey's mom. I mean, that woman, God bless her. I mean, look at the size of their heads, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I actually really like their podcast, the New Heights podcast with Travis and um Jason Kelsey.

SPEAKER_00

Is it good?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's it's pretty fun. They take a like a I don't know, it makes you see past the teams. You know, as a Raiders fan, it's hard for me to be a Travis Kelsey fan, but then you see his personality and with his brother, and like just their whole backstory is awesome because what is your backstory? So Travis and Kelsey went to college together, and actually Travis was kind of like the screw up in college. He actually got in trouble, I think, um, smoking some reefer or doing something. He had something going on like outside of academics, and then Jason Kelsey's coach, Andy Reid, was the coach of the Eagles. He had just gotten fired and went to the Chiefs. Uh Andy Reed called Jason and said, Hey, if I draft your little brother, he's not gonna be a fuck up, right? And so Jason basically gave Andy Reed the seal of approval to draft his little brother.

SPEAKER_00

Were they playing football?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they were playing football. They played at University of Cincinnati.

SPEAKER_00

And oh, no way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I believe so. College football.

SPEAKER_00

Well, look that up. Let's look it up, otherwise they they'll they will come after us. Um so I mean, so they they were just naturally gifted. Did their dad play football? Are they from like the do they have that in their jeans or are they just, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they both played at um University of or Travis played at University of Cincinnati. I believe his brother played there too. I don't know about their parents. Again, I'm not a huge like fan of them, but I do like their podcast.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna get you a Travis Kelsey jersey for Christmas.

SPEAKER_01

I will not wear it. Yeah, you will. Dude, I dude.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get you Taylor Shift.

SPEAKER_01

My kid is a Swifty, and when the Raiders play the Chiefs twice a year.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna get you a I'm gonna get you a a Kansas City uh jersey, and it says Swifty Dad, I love my daughter.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know the betrayal? So my daughter has loved watching Raiders football with me since she could walk. She wears the hat, she'll wear the gear. Do you know the betrayal of her seeing Taylor Swift pop up on the most rivaled team to the Raiders? And her going, oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Are they the most rival team to the Raiders? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's our rival. The Kansas. Well, there's four. You have Chiefs, Broncos, um, Chargers, and Raiders.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like the Raiders hate everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Everyone hates the Raiders because they're terrible.

SPEAKER_00

I mean the Raiders are terrible?

SPEAKER_01

We have been for the last few years.

SPEAKER_00

I thought you said it was gonna be a good year.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be a good year.

SPEAKER_00

Or is that just like denial?

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be a good year.

SPEAKER_00

It's gonna be a great year.

SPEAKER_01

We're all undefeated right now.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. That is true. Well, um, Travis Kelsey and his brother, uh, God bless you. I mean, what a wedding, though. Think about it though. Like the the people that went there were just like they've got you've got Paul McCartney, you got you know Stevie Nicks, you got Adam Sandler as I mean, that's I was I will give respect respect because you get Adam Sandler as your uh uh officiant. I mean, that's a move right there.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder if that was negotiated in that last um Happy Gilmore movie. If Travis was like, hey, I'll make a deal with you. I'll come in and be an extra as a waiter if you uh officiate the wedding.

SPEAKER_00

Did I ever tell you how I almost got um I almost got I was literally uh I really thought it was gonna happen. One of my good buddies, uh Perry Sachs, he he works with Adam Sandler and he called me. Uh he's like, dude, there's a great part in here. Can you put yourself on tape right away? I need you to send video your golfing. And I was like, okay. I'm like, I'm not the best golfer. Like, I don't know if I can play left-handed or right-handed.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, You're not even good at golf. Like, you're not, you can't even swing a club.

SPEAKER_00

I I'm I'm listening it. I the problem is I play hockey left and baseball right, right? And I can play decent hockey. We talked about it. I can I can hit a uh baseball pretty good. Um, but it's I can't figure out which way with the club. So I've I've never I've switched, like I think I'm better putting left and I'm better driving right, which doesn't make sense. At any rate, I do a great audition. They're like, we need a video of him uh uh golfing. I'm like, oh man, I was hoping the tape they'd just do it because he's like Adam doesn't want to double anybody. I'm like, okay, it's kind of like the Gavin O'Connor thing. And uh I go down to this place down here, it's this like indoor golfing thing, and I asked this guy, I'm like, I need to, you know, get good at golf, at least for a video. Um, actually, you know what? I'll post the video. Sean, I'll send remind me to send you this video of me swinging. Uh, this is the video I sent to Adam Sandler. And then at the last minute, I thought I was gonna get it, and uh, my manager called, and Perry called me as well. He's like, there people are banging down the doors. Like every athlete in the world right now is wanting to be in this movie, and the character that they'd written as like the villain is basically been diluted, and it's just gonna be cameos for everybody. And I watched the movie, and it was like it literally was like every athlete under the sun. It was like watching Entourage.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what what movie was that? Happy Gilmore. Happy Gilmore, okay.

SPEAKER_00

What do you think we were talking about for the last time?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, no, I didn't know you, I didn't know you.

SPEAKER_00

I I thought you were talking about the first Happy Gilmore, like you auditioned for the actual uh I actually did audition for the first Happy Gilmore 2. Uh the happ not the Happy Gilmore, I auditioned for the first Happy Gilmore, and I almost got the role of the caddy. And then years later, um, Happy Gilmore 2, and I was I had a pin in me for like like a week. And I like the text, I was like, my buddy's like, Perry's like, dude, I think it's gonna happen. Like, Adam watched your tape, he loved it, but he's like, I need to see him play golf.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, God man, we should get Adam Sandler on the podcast.

SPEAKER_00

Well, let's just call uh call your boy uh uh Kelsey and see if we can uh I mean he'd be great on the show, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he'd fit right in.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I think he's honestly Adam Sandler, I think, is one of the best actors out there. Uh that that diamond movie that he did, what was that called? In the the movie where he got he didn't actually got snubbed as an actor. It's about him being a diamond uh seller in New York. It is one of the best freaking movies ever.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I know what you're talking about. I don't know the name of it though.

SPEAKER_00

But you're supposed to pull it up, Sean. That's your job.

SPEAKER_01

Uncut gems.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man, highly recommend that. If you're doing anything this weekend, I recommend watching Uncut Gems. Well, there you have it, kids. There you have it, folks. That's another episode of Unfiltered Friday. I want to just take this moment, as I always do, to just be grateful and thank y'all. We, for the first time, we hit number 10 in social culture and philosophy on the Apple charts. What we've been able to accomplish in the last three months is bananas. We got over, we're close, or all we're almost at 100,000 downloads. And um, if it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be here. And I really mean it. You guys keep coming back, keep listening, the comments, and I want to say something too. I really mean it. I know I've talked about what I've been kind of going through and it's been tough, but I got so many DMs from people that I didn't know. Um, just saying they're praying for me and uh hang in there and just the whatever you guys have sent, uh it means the world, all your comments and stuff. So everything's gonna be okay. I'm okay, just going through a bit of a rough patch. And uh the show, as I said, has been such a light, and I get excited to for the hour and a half that we are down here, whether we're doing the one-on-one interviews or the unfiltered Friday, it's kind of my little safe space and getaway with everything else going on in my life. So I can't thank you enough. I love you with all my heart. Um, we will see you on Tuesday. We have a very special guest, Shep Rose. I have his book over there. Um, he has this book coming out of him doing ayahuasca called Nothing in Moderation. For those of you who don't know Shep Rose, he's on the biggest reality show called Southern Charmed. He is a character, he is a great person, and I can't wait for y'all to check this episode out. So let your spirit lead. Have a wonderful weekend. If you're in Charleston, man, you find me. I'm buying you a beard. God bless, have a great weekend.

SPEAKER_04

And this concludes Unfiltered Fridays on the AJ Buckley Show. He's totally kidding, unless you're serious.
